Dubai comes first regionally, and fifth best city in the world in the World’s Best Cities report 2023 by a leading global adviser in tourism, economic development, and real estate.
The Resonance Consultancy rates the global cities- with a population of one million or more- by the combination of quantitative performance data with qualitative assessments from visitors and residents in 24 areas divided into six main categories: product, place, prosperity, programming, promotion, and people.
When different factors such as safety, weather, landmarks, and outdoor activities were considered, Dubai came to the top.
Chris Fair, president, and CEO of Resonance Consultancy, called Dubai the “torrent of city-building” over the past two years.
The report summarized Dubai as a beautiful blend of Arab heritage, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and luxury shopping.
The report said Dubai is where you can visit the world’s tallest building and bet on ponies at the world’s richest horse race.
The landmarks and tourist attractions in Dubai highlighted in the report is Dubai Mall, the Museum of the Future, the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Creek, Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, Ain Dubai, The Palm, Aura Sky, and Cityland Mall.
Doha came 27 and was followed by Abu Dhabi in the rankings. The Capital of the UAE ranked sixth, whereas the Capital of Qatar ranked first in the prosperity index.
Dubai has the world’s tallest, biggest, and most expensive things, whereas Abu Dhabi is focused on rich cultural tapestry and heritage. It invests a lot of money in bringing creators and artists as guests for the residencies and multi-show dates.
Kyiv was selected as the honorary best city in the world because of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Ukrainian capital was called an urban beacon of courage and resilience. Also, Moscow and St Petersburg were removed from this year’s report. Last year, both cities were in the top 20.
